This 1930 silent film visits Verkade’s factories in Zaandam and shows the mechanized production of biscuits, chocolates, and related goods. Workers monitor control panels, inspect products, operate machinery, arrange confections on trays, and wrap and pack finished items.

One section introduces “Délice,” which an intertitle describes as a combination of biscuit and chocolate, and follows rectangular pieces through sorting and packaging. Another sequence shows small round objects emerging from a machine and workers inserting thin sticks or wicks before the film connects the product with keeping tea at the correct temperature. After goods are loaded onto a truck outside the factory, a closing map places Zaandam at the center of routes extending across the world.
