The Playhouse (1921) is a silent comedy featuring Buster Keaton. Its celebrated opening dream sequence uses multiple exposures to show Keaton simultaneously portraying a theater’s bandleader, musicians, dancers, and audience before the film’s vaudeville routines begin.
