Muller en co n.v. Rotterdam

192810 min 59 sec39 shots

This silent 1928 company film shows Muller & Co.'s shipping, cargo, and passenger operations in Rotterdam and London. Ships move through open water and busy harbors, including a vessel passing beneath London’s Tower Bridge, while waterfront panoramas reveal quays, warehouses, cranes, and dense city streets. At the docks, workers unload moored ships, and two laborers pause to smile at the camera.

Passenger traffic forms another major subject as people board and leave ships and a vessel crowded with travelers departs. Harbor machinery and construction also receive attention, with views of rail cars, cranes, steamships—including the Caledonia—and the exposed steel framework of a ship being built. Together, these scenes record the labor, transportation, and industrial facilities behind the company’s port business.
