FREE FALL SAFETY PROCEDURES

196621 min 50 sec66 shots

The film explains that safe parachuting begins with careful ground training. It gives detailed instructions for packing a canopy and lines, closing the pack tray for different release systems, fitting the main and reserve parachutes, setting the altimeter, wearing protective equipment, and following a jumpmaster’s inspection. Trainees practice a five-point landing fall and prepare for hazards such as power lines, trees, water, and obstacles in the drop zone.

Jumpers learn safe aircraft procedures, a poised exit, a stable free-fall position, and the correct use of static lines and ripcords. After five qualifying static-line jumps, trainees begin brief free falls, use the reserve parachute when a deployment may have failed, and gradually attempt longer falls as their skill increases. The closing message warns jumpers to stay within their abilities, avoid unnecessary risks, and continue following the safety procedures learned on the ground.
