This 1940 film shows how road maps are field-checked, revised, and printed. It follows road scouts and highway officials gathering data on construction, detours, mileage, elevation, and road grades, then traces how draftsmen transfer updates to overlays that are photographed onto printing plates and overprinted on standard maps.
