America's New Paths In Space

7 min 3 sec/40 shots

Download in full

NASA’s new spaceflight strategy follows two parallel paths. The agency is fostering private companies to design, launch, and own commercial spacecraft for cargo and eventually crewed orbital flights, while developing the Orion spacecraft and Space Launch System for missions beyond Earth orbit. The programs aim toward lunar exploration, asteroid missions, and eventually Mars.
