This 1961 U.S. Air Force training film teaches military projectionists how to inspect, clean, lubricate, and troubleshoot the AQ-2A1 16mm projector. An opening breakdown requires a projectionist to hand-wind the take-up reel because of a broken felt; after the showing, he promptly replaces the part. Daily and periodic inspections follow the film path through the machine and cover belts, pulleys, rollers, sprockets, film shoes, pressure and aperture plates, the projection lens, lamps, reflector, condenser lens, and sound drum.

Close views demonstrate the use of oil, brushes, alcohol, lens tissue, and lint-free cloths, while safety instructions require stopping or unplugging the projector before certain tasks and leaving precision lens work to qualified technicians. Troubleshooting sections identify possible causes of a dark lamp, blurred picture, missing or distorted sound, faulty take-up or rewind, and complete electrical failure, including how to inspect and replace the fuse. Projectionists are told to send repairs beyond their assigned duties through authorized channels and consult the specified technical order, with the goal of preventing film damage, unnecessary costs, and interruptions during screenings.
